Our 2022 Monterey Pinot Noir showcases vibrant cherry aromas intertwined with hints of wild strawberries and black tea. On the palate, juicy black cherry flavors blend seamlessly with cola notes, vanilla, and toasted oak, balanced by smooth tannins. Its silky texture gives way to a long, satisfying finish that captures the essence of Monterey.

Meet Our Winemaker, Kris Kato 

With experience at both large-scale and boutique Central Coast wineries, Winemaker Kris Kato brings a wealth of knowledge to his role at Carmel Road, where his passion lies in crafting exceptional Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

“Pinot expresses itself more than any other variety, in terms of being nuanced-driven,” Kris shares. Working with Monterey fruit, including from the renowned Panorama Vineyard, fuels his creativity. “I love to make small lots of wine from different parcels. It’s incredible to be able to choose the most distinct wines from the vineyard and showcase them in different bottlings.”
